I was so lucky to win a prize of Nurturing Hand Cream in a recent Twitter competition run by Nougat London. The hand cream comes in four scents; Tuberose & Jasmine, Fig & Pink Cedar, Cherry Blossom and Peony. I didn't get a choice of which one I would receive but I was actually quite thankful as they all sound wonderful and I would have found it rather difficult!
Our Nurturing Hand Cream is specially formulated to soften, protect your hands and strengthen your nails. This rich, yet easily absorbed, cream contains the moisturising properties of Cocoa Butter as well as Almond and Macadamia oils renowned for their ability to hydrate. Also containing natural extract of Comfrey and Vitamin E for to soothe and care for your hard working hands. Our Peony fragrance is a sophisticated floral combining:
- The fresh and colourful opening of Citron
- The sassy pinch of Litchi
- The delicacy of Peony
- The heart of Pink Pepper and Freesia brings an element of surprise, spicing up the fragrance’s harmony
The base notes of the fragrance rest on the unusual blend of Patchouli and Bourbon-Vetiver. This intense base is lightened by the fresh and colourful opening of Citron with a sassy pinch of Litchi and the delicacy of Peony. The heart of Pink Pepper and Freesia brings an element of surprise, spicing up the fragrance’s harmony.

The fragrance is absolutely beautiful, it's very floral but not overpoweringly so. Each time I smell the hand cream on my skin, I am taken back to one particular warm summer's day that I spent with my husband and daughters in Bodnant Gardens, North Wales. Very happy memories!
The cream itself is fairly thick but sinks into the skin immediately and does not leave a greasy residue. Cocoa Butter makes my hands feel incredibly nourished and supersoft after application, and the oils create a long lasting satiny feel. The inclusion of Almond and Macadamia oils mean that for a long time after application the cream is still working hard to hydrate the skin. I also feel protected by the natural extract Vitamin E which is considered a very important antioxidant as it assists in repairing sun damaged skin and preventing future damage. In beauty terms it can be considered an anti-aging addition.
Considering application and the results that I have noticed over the last few days of using this product, I rate it really highly. I have eczema on my knee and I have been trying a little Nurturing Hand Cream on it after using the Nougat London Refining scrub in the shower. It really does look improved and doesn't feel tight or itchy at all.
I deliberately didn't look at the ingredients list until I had completed my review and I have to say I am a little disappointed at the inclusion of parabens and others. They are used by many other well known brands so Nougat London should not be singled out. These brands include: No.7, Maybelline, Revlon, L'Oreal, The Body Shop, L'Occitane, Elizabeth Arden, Estee Lauder, Guerlain and so on. The ingredients are not on the EU or UK banned substance list for cosmetics. If you are concerned then please note that Nougat London Naturals do not contain parabens.
The Nougat London Nurturing Hand Cream is available here for £6.00 for 40ml or a rather gorgeous glass plunge bottle containing 250ml for £20.00 here.
Have you tried Nougat London?
*UPDATE* Nougat London have changed their formula to omit Parabens. They tell me that 'all Parabens are removed in all larger sizes & smaller in the next batch'. This is absolutely great news, thank you Nougat London lovelies!
