On first opening the tub I could smell a kind of coconut scent which reminded me of suncream which I liked. That fragrance seemed to quickly disappear and was replaced with patchouli. Now I don't hate patchouli at all, in fact I think it creates a nice 'background' scent, but I could not smell the mandarin essential oil at all.
As I looked at the cream further and stuck my finger in to scoop some up the dark, golden grains of glitter were very obvious and plentiful. You can see what I mean in the images below.
The scent on the skin is not bad but it is strong and would overpower any other perfumes or sprays. I could still smell the patchouli several hours after use (and that is after using a cleaning wipe over the area to try and remove the hideous glitter).
To be fair to the product, the result on my skin was not bad. It did moisturise my skin and I did feel smoother as a result.
I would repurchase a Bomb Cosmetics body butter but not a shimmering one...
