I received my first box this week....
The box arrived in a black, thick plastic envelope which was able to fit through my letterbox.
After opening the envelope I could immediately smell a rich chocolatey fragrance. You know that smell when you go into a really good quality chocolate shop? Hmmm so good!
Inside the box are four bars of chocolate, a 'how to taste chocolate' guide, notes in respect of each bar (although I had one missing) and a small piece of chocolate for you to pass to a friend to sample.
1. Grenada Chocolate Company - Nib-A-Licious (£4.50 here)
2. Original Beans - Esmeraldas Milk (£3.49 here)
3. Menakao - Dark Chocolate with Combava & Pink Pepper (£3.45 here)
4. Michel Cluizel - Mokaya Organic Dark (£3.99 here)
Total RRP of my box is £15.43.
The cost of a monthly subscription is
*£16.95 if paying on a monthly basis
*£14.95 on a quarterly basis
Special one off boxes are available for special occasions from £14.95.
Postage is included with all boxes so no additional hidden costs.
I do however want to emphasise how special the whole experience is. Initially I noted that the packaging and box are really good quality, giving it an expensive and special feel. The chocolate is from very luxurious brands, three of which I have never actually heard of before but I must stress I am no chocolate expert! The cards which have been included have been carefully created with information about each bar and notes on what tastes to look out for.
The Cocoa Runners do provide a great service. It's exciting waiting to see what arrives and certainly lots of fun having a chocolate tasting session in the comfort of your own home!
I think this would really make an great gift for someone. I have just the person in mind, I hope he isn't reading this....
