Wicked is a popular theatre show described on the official London website as the incredible untold story of an unlikely but profound friendship between two girls who first meet as sorcery students at Shiz University: the blonde and very popular Glinda and a misunderstood green girl named Elphaba.
Being a huge fan, Deborah Lippmann created this collection for Wicked's 10th anniversary. She has named each polish after a song in the production.
DEFYING GRAVITY Elphaba's unlimited green
ONE SHORT DAY positively perfect emerald
Popular applies easily and is almost like a jelly polish. It has a very fine silver glitter running evenly throughout and looks really beautiful on its own or worn as an accent finger polish. Two thin coats are needed to completely cover the nail.
Defying Gravity is more difficult to work with as it begins drying quite quickly causing streaks. It has a beautiful glossy finish when dry and two coats will ensure near perfect coverage. I use two to three coats on my nails depending on how it looks but the picture shows just two coats.
One Short Day is my absolute favourite polish in this collection. The glitter coverage is absolutely perfect and plentiful. It dries quickly and looks amazing, especially in sunlight when it glistens and sparkles. The polish is sufficiently coloured to wear alone or as an accent finger colour.
Overall, I am impressed with Deborah Lippmann polish. I am not sure whether the brush is the same as the full size polish but it allows a nice neat application. The polish has lasted around 3 to 4 days without chips appearing which is about average for me. It is quite a bit more expensive than I would normally pay but having this set feels like a real treat.
A full size polish has an RRP of £16.00 - £18.00.
